Visit the Fun-Filled Museums in Aberdeen, MD

While the museums in Aberdeen are not as many, there are two primary options that any museum lover won’t want to miss visiting. Information can be found here.

Here are some of them in detail.

Aberdeen Historical Museum

Also next to Festival Park in downtown Aberdeen, a cute one-story commercial building houses the local history museum. Volunteer-run, the museum is usually open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and chronicles many aspects of Aberdeen’s past. The main permanent exhibition delves into topics like the railroads, canning, prominent local people, historic businesses, sports, and the century-long story of the Aberdeen Proving Ground. One specialty area is baseball, with a trove of memorabilia for the IronBirds and the Ripken family. See here for information about The Must-Visit Spots in Aberdeen, MD.

US Army Ordnance Museum

The US Army Ordnance Museum is one of the top attractions in Aberdeen, especially for those who enjoy military-related attractions. The main highlight of this museum is the collection of tanks strewn across the 25-acre grounds. There are more than 200 of these imposing war machines to see, and when visitors aren’t checking them out, they can view a sizable collection of small arms and missiles. All the outdoor exhibits found at the US Army Ordnance Museum can be viewed during the daylight hours, with the general museum hours being 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily.
